Kashmir Doctors Face Trouble In Managing Cardiac Emergencies risingkashmir.com
The doctors in Kashmir are facing trouble in managing cardiac emergencies with the Save Heart Kashmir—an initiative using social network application—remaining defunct due to internet gag for over four months, taking a toll on patient care. Doctors associated with the WhatsApp initiative said despite communication gag imposed after the abrogation of Article 370, thought they handled cardiac emergencies but they are facing difficulties as internet shutdown continues.
Head Department of Cardiology, SKIMS Soura, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Tramboo said the cardiologists are facing difficulties to handle the cardiac cases due to lack of internet. “Earlier, doctors would send ECG reports of patients on WhatsApp and we would analyze and give them feedback. How can they manage it now? They are facing difficult problems,” he said. Cardiologists used to send the reports of patients instantly and patients were treated immediately due to living advises/suggestions with the help of the doctors’ group. “There have been a lot of problems for patients. All doctors including cardiologists are at the receiving end,” he said.
