Kashmir Continues To Suffer, No Outlet For Our Frustrations indiatoday.in
Kashmir-born former actress Zaira Wasim has taken to Instagram to talk about the "restrictions" imposed by the Indian government on the "liberty of Kashmiris." Zaira shared a picture of a flower and wrote a long, emotional piece on how the Valley is suffering after the government suspended network connectivity on August 5 after revoking Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 and carved two union territories out of the state – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Cellular network, landline and broadband connectivity, however, resumed in the Valley only late last month. In her post, Zaira wrote, "Kashmir continues to suffer and see-saw between hope and frustration? There's a false and uneasy semblance of calmness in place of escalating despair and sorrow? Kashmiris continue to exist and suffer in a world where it is so easy to place restrictions on our liberty. Why do we have to live in a world where our lives and wills are controlled, dictated and bent?"
