Speaking with India Today TV, Raminder Ranger aka Rami Ranger also said that another matter of “grave concern” for him is the “increasing divide between the Pakistani and the Indian community in the United Kingdom.
Reminder Ranger, who was recently nominated to the upper house of British Parliament by former Prime Minister Theresa May, has said that “Kashmir is one of the most important issues” that he wants to undertake.
Speaking with India Today TV, Raminder Ranger aka Rami Ranger also said that another matter of “grave concern” for him is the “increasing divide between the Pakistani and the Indian community in the United Kingdom”.
Violence and intimidation experienced by many Indians on August 15 by Pakistan supporters and the attack on HCI building on September 3 are worrying, Rami Ranger said.
Rami Ranger also believes that human rights are an issue that “works both ways”. Ranger also said that he will try and use his good offices to explain the issue of human rights to the government.
After the Indian government abrogated provisions of Article 370, that gave Jammu and Kashmir a special status, there has been a shift in Britain’s position.
