Days after a faceoff between India and Chinese forces in the Ladakh sector, Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh presided over a high-altitude warfare military exercise sending out a clear message to China that any misadventure on India’s territory would be punished. The Lt Gen visited Eastern Ladakh and witnessed the integrated exercise of all arms in a super high altitude area and complimented all ranks for an outstanding display of warfighting capability under challenging conditions.
The XIV Corps which is headquartered at Leh falls under the Northern Army Command and has the 3rd Infantry Division and 8th Infantry Division under it.
The current commander Lieutenant General Yogesh Kumar Joshi is the current commander of the XIV Corps. It was under his leadership that the 13th Jammu and Kashmir Rifles had recaptured the strategic Tiger Hill during the Kargil War.
