Parvez Rasool Ton Helps Jammu And Kashmir Pick Up Narrow Win cricbuzz.com
A scintillating ton from skipper Parvez Rasool helped Jammu & Kashmir pick up a tight four-wicket win over Railways in Jaipur. Chasing a stiff 286 for victory, J & K made a poor start losing the openers for single-digit scores before Rasool resurrected the innings. He was involved in three successive half-century partnerships to keep his side in contention and eventually went past the three-figure mark as well. Rasool finished unbeaten on 118 and was aided by a cameo from Ram Dayal as J & K went past the target with five balls left to spare.
Earlier in the day, Railways had various batsmen make useful contributions to help them post 285 on the board. While the top order batsmen departed after making starts, a 99-run stand for the fourth wicket between skipper Arindam Ghosh and wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Mor set the platform. Both these batsmen departed after registering half-centuries with Karn Sharma providing the finishing touches with a 22-ball 40.
