Aarey Trees Greater Than Kashmiri Lives

Hitting out at the Centre over the security clampdown in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti said trees in the Aarey Colony of Mumbai were greater than Kashmiri lives. Following the Supreme Court’s direction to the Maharashtra government to halt tree felling in Aarey, Mehbooba Mufti, whose Twitter is presently handled by her daughter Iltija, stated that Aarey trees were greater than Kashmiri lives. In another tweet from the handle of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said she was glad that activists were able to stop the felling of trees in Aarey and asked why not the same right to Kashmiris.
