He said that it was sad that the protests were taking place on Diwali in a city which used to be a "neutral meeting ground" for Indians and Pakistanis.
In a tweet, Anand Mahindra said, "Truly, truly sad. London used to be a neutral meeting ground where Indians and Pakistanis often discovered their common histories as South Asians. And this at a time when Diwali is globally being recognised as a day of light and hope."
