Parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are set to receive heavy snowfall and rainfall over the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The weather agency has also issued a ‘yellow alert’ for the Jammu and Kashmir for November 21, and Himachal Pradesh and J&K for November 22. In its weather bulletin, the IMD stated that due to the western disturbance after a cyclonic circulation lies over Iran and nearby regions, the three hill states are likely to receive rainfall on Thursday and Friday. “Jammu and Kashmir is likely to receive downpour on Thursday and Friday while Himachal Pradesh may be battered by the rains on Friday only”, the IMD said.
