116 Employees Of Dissolved Legislative Council Shifted tribuneindia.com
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has transferred 116 employees, including officers of the erstwhile Legislative Council, to different government departments and has also accorded sanction to the constitution of a cell for safekeeping the records of the dissolved body. The officers and other employees, who previously worked in the Legislative Council Secretariat, have now been moved to several departments, mainly the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Some officials have also been moved to the Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Election Department, Public Service Commission and the office of the Advocate General. The order was issued yesterday by the General Administration Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government. The Legislative Council was the upper house of the Assembly and was abolished last month as part of the reorganization of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. The council was dissolved as per Section 57 of the J&K Reorganisation Bill, 2019.
