Travelers To Srinagar, Shimla, Manali, Nainital Beware, Road Blockages Likely Amidst Fresh Snow And Rains

A fresh Western Disturbance has already approached Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, isolated light rains have occurred over Jammu and Kashmir during the last 21 hours. Now, we expect the rains to appear over Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand as well. However, the rain activities will be concentrated moreover Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh today.
By tomorrow we expect rain and snow to occur over most parts of these states. A few heavy spells are also expected over all the states of Western Himalayas. Isolated hailstorm activities are also expected to occur over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. These moderate to heavy rain and snowfall activities will continue until December 13. By December 14, the weather system will move away and the remnants of this weather system will continue to give isolated rain and snow activities over Western Himalayas.

Avalanches, landslides and mudslides are probable over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Major highways like that of Jammu-Srinagar highway is set to get blocked due to the snowfall. Travelers should take extra precaution while heading forth towards hilly destinations. The Zoji La pass which had opened up for tourists after a long time, might get blocked once again.
