Five persons have been booked by Rajouri police for posting ‘sensitive’ content on Facebook, which cops claimed had the potential to disturb peace and harmony in the area. Besides initiating legal proceedings against all of them under relevant sections of the law, police also intend to get their passports canceled through legal channels. As part of a clampdown on communication channels within Jammu & Kashmir following bifurcation of the state, security agencies have also increased surveillance of social media platforms. Two youths were booked last week for posting ‘objectionable’ content on Facebook.
