Board Announces Exams Leaving Students Unprepared jagranjosh.com
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education announced on Friday that the state annual and Board exams would be concluded by 28th November 2019 for Classes 5 – 12. The decision by the Board comes as a surprise to many schools in the valley as they now have the task of getting unprepared students to sit for the exams. The students in primary schools of the state have not been able to attend their classes since the 5th August when the state was put in lockdown as the center decided to revoke Article 370 and 35A. Although the schools later reopened in phases, the attendance recorded very low.
The Chairman of the Board of School Education, Veena Pandita, announced that the Class 10 exams would be held from 29th October 2019 to 16th November 2019. The examination for Class 12 students, on the other hand, would be conducted from 30th October 2019 to 28th November 2019. Another Board official was also quoted saying that there is no relaxation in the syllabus prescribed for Classes 10 and 12. The admit cards for the exams will be issued one week prior to the exam.
