CBI Raids Ex-Officials’ Residence In J&K, NCR Over Illegal Issuance Of Arm Licenses indiatoday.in
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting raids at multiple places in Srinagar, Jammu, Gurgaon and Noida in the premises of then District collector or magistrate of Kupwara, Barmula, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Sopian, Rajouri, Doda, Pulwama and several other places.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday conducted raids at 13 locations in Jammu and Kashmir and the National Capital Region (NCR) in connection with the arms licence case.
As per now, the CBI has recovered incriminating evidence including documents pertaining to the case.
The search is being carried out at multiple places in Srinagar, Jammu, Gurgaon and Noida in the premises of former district collector or magistrate of Kupwara, Barmula, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Sopian, Rajouri, Doda, Pulwama and several other places.
The ongoing CBI operation is conducted in connection with two cases related to allegations of issuance of around 2 lakh Arms Licences from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir by their respective district collector or magistrate, sources said.
Sources said that the officials were paid a bribe in exchange for approving and granting the licenses to non-residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
