In line with the exam datasheet released earlier, JKBOSE 12th Exam 2019 started on Wednesday i.e. 30th October 2019. After the peaceful start to the Class 10 or Secondary Exam in the state on Tuesday, Class 12 students and their parents were quite anxious about the start of board exams under the prevailing situation. This is the first time that Board Exams are being held in the Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. But, the first day of Class 12 Board Exams for JKBOSE students went on peaceful with no major incident being reported from across the valley.
After the conclusion of the first exam paper for the JKBOSE 12th Exam 2019, the Board released an official estimate for student participation in the exam. According to the estimate, a total of 48,000 students of Kashmir division appeared in the exam at 433 centers set up across Jammu and Kashmir. The total number of students appearing for the JKBOSE 12th Exam 2019 on 30th October 2019 amounts to 99.50% of the student population registered for the examination. The enthusiastic participation of students in the JKBOSE Class 12 Board Exam 2019 has alleviated any fears regarding the students missing the examinations due to the fear of the prevailing tense situation in the valley.
