Academics In JK Medical Colleges Take New Heights

In a bid to strengthen medical education, the two major medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir have started Diplomate in National Board (DNB) courses in different specialities after inspected by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The Government Medical College Srinagar has started the DNB courses in five specialities’ and nine more departments have been inspected by the NBE.

Principal GMC Srinagar, Prof Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, said the NBE has approved DNB courses in five super specialities that include respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, surgical gastroenterology, urology and paediatric surgery. “In these five specialities, ten MBBS students have already joined,” he said.
