After Maharashtra, Karnataka Plans To Set Up Tourism Centre And Hotel In J&K timesofindia.indiatimes.com
After Maharashtra, Karnataka is now planning to build a hotel and tourism center in Jammu and Kashmir; the will be seeking land from J&K Government to execute the same plan. Referring to this development, Minister of Tourism C T Ravi said that their plan is to open a KSTDC (Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation) hotel and that they will be seeking land there first. He also said that they want to open a tourism center, which will likely result in a win-win situation for both the states and also boost tourism at the same time.
He mentioned that this matter will, however, be discussed with the Karnataka cabinet before sending the proposal ahead to the J&K Government. This move comes after the central government scrapped Article 370 of the constitution, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. With the revocation of the article, outsiders now have the opportunity to buy land in Kashmir, one of the most popular tourist spots in India.
