Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that the central government is committed to inclusive development and corruption-free accountability in the functioning of government machinery in Jammu & Kashmir. Addressing a public outreach programme at Harwan in Srinagar outskirts today, he said, the Central Government is working with full sincerity to ensure that the benefits of development reach the deserving masses. Mr Naqvi stressed that the Government is making all efforts to reach out to the people of the Union Territory to better understand their aspirations.
The Minister said that the Centre’s outreach programme provides an opportunity for people to raise their demands and seek their resolution. He said, it is time for people to take benefit of development schemes and J&K should be part of the developmental story of India. He added that the central government is monitoring and ensuring that funds that are meant for developmental schemes reach to the grass-root level. The Minister said that to encourage youth to take different job-oriented courses, skill development courses are being imparted for minority communities. He said that setting up of institutions like AIIMS, ITIs and IIMs will provide a platform for the youth of the valley to compete with the best in business.
