In occupied Kashmir, a meeting of Congress Committee was held at Shahidi Chowk in Jammu to discuss the ways and means to impress upon the Indian government to restore the status of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was presided over by Congress District President Vikram Malhotra and attended by office bearers, block & ward presidents and councilors.
Vikram Malhotra while addressing the meeting said the party is gearing up to launch mass protests and agitations to force New Delhi to restore the statehood of the Dogra State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to the DCC leaders, Block Presidents, and Booth level delegates he said that Jammu and Kashmir have been reduced to the level of an administrative unit and the glory of the state has been snatched and ruined at hands of BJP. He added the even after the formal transition of J&K from state to UT on the 31st October the issue of domicile safeguard and job safety and security has been left unaddressed. The future of tens of thousands of unemployed youth is in jeopardy.
