Face-Off Between India, China Armies In Ladakh Resolved After Talks dbpost.com
A face-off between Indian and Chinese armies was settled on Wednesday close to the northern bank of the Pangong Lake, in the newly-formed union territory of Ladakh, after delegation-level parleys. ‘There was a face-off between the two armies but it got over after the delegation-level talks between two sides,’ Indian Army said in a statement.‘The face-off is over now and it had de-escalated and disengaged fully after delegation-level talks yesterday,’ Indian Army said. The force also stated that such incidents happen due to differing perceptions of the LAC and there are established mechanisms to resolve such differences.
Last month, Beijing had said it was worried over India’s decision to repeal Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir and added it was unacceptable that New Delhi had changed Ladakh’s status. China remains the all-weather strategically and one among the primary economic benefactors of Pakistan, which has been vocal in its opposition against India’s moves in J&K. India is fast building infrastructure along the borders with China which had modernized its side of the disputed Line of Actual Control a long time ago.
