Getting Back Pok, Making It Part Of India Is Modi Govt’s Next Agenda newsnation.in
Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that the Indian government’s next agenda is to retrieve Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and make it a part of the Indian union. He added that it is not only the commitment of BJP or the current dispensation but is a part of the resolution passed in parliament by the Congress government in 1994 under the leadership of the then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. Addressing a press conference on the completion of 100 days of the Modi government’s second term in office, Jitendra Singh said that the government has taken several historic decisions and abrogation of Article 370 stands out amongst all of them. “Kashmir is free from restrictions and the movement of people is on without any hindrance and situation is fast returning to normal”, news agency ANI quoted Jitendra Singh as saying.
He added that the decision to abrogate Article 370 will pave way for industrial growth, employment generation and bettering of the healthcare system in the newly created Union Territories of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.
Speaking about the situation in Kashmir, Udhampur MP added that the Valley was “neither shut nor under curfew”.
Earlier in August, the Indian Parliament approved a resolution abrogating special status accorded to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution. It also cleared a bill to split the state into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Moreover, Pakistan has been desperately reaching out to its allies after India took the decision to scrap J-K’s special status. Moreover, it has only been snubbed by the international community while India has got diplomatic support from nations like Russia, UAE, Poland, etc.
