Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam have asked Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir, Jammu, and Ladakh to review the availability of state land in each district. The objective is to develop it as a land bank for setting up industrial estates in the districts and for other big-ticket projects like medi-cities. The Deputy Commissioners have been asked to complete the identification of the land by the end of this month.
Directions have been issued to Deputy Commissioners, DCs of Bandipora and Ramban districts to identify suitable land for establishing degree colleges. The DCS of Baramulla, Udhampur, Rajouri, Ramban and Pulwama districts have also been directed to identify land for setting up police stations for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The Chief Secretary also asked the DCs to immediately start issuing Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificates to eligible beneficiaries to avail the benefits, including admissions to the medical colleges for MBBS/BDS under EWS quota for the academic year 2019-20. They have also asked to organize special camps for the purpose of Panchayats.
Chief Secretary V R Subrahmanyam also reviewed the status of essential commodities and winter stocking in Kashmir, Jammu, and the Ladakh region. He directed officials to ensure the availability of essential items.
