J And K Suffers Rs 10,000 Crore Losses trends.gulte.com
It’s been 84 days that Jammu & Kashmir has been under the Indian army lockdown and still the restrictions are continuing. Another six days, J&K seizure will complete three months and as per the trade body analysis, J&K has suffered Rs 10,000 business loss all these days.
Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has acknowledged the valley is going through severe financial stress but can’t pressure the union government on lifting the restrictions in the region. Suspension of internet services is a major factor that led to huge losses. The basic communication is completely blacked out for nearly a month and then the government started easing things yet the major limitations are being carried out.
The restrictions also led 50,000 people to lose their jobs while developmental works Rs 2000 are pending since August 5th as the labor left the place and are yet to return.
Despite things going downwards, the center is not willing to lift the lockdown and is likely to take its own call. Politicians are house-arrested, public transport is shut, tourism is absolutely zero. Tough days!
