Kashmir Live Updates: Situation Tense Ahead Of Eid, No Relief In Communication Services For A Week indiatoday.in
Clampdown in Jammu and Kashmir continues after abrogation of Article 370 on Day 7 today. It is said that Kashmir Valley is peaceful as restrictions have been relaxed in some parts ahead of Eid tomorrow. J&K Police have denied media reports of firing incidents in the valley, and urged people not to believe "mischievous and motivated news". In fact, the police said they have not fired a single bullet so far in six days. Police also mentioned prohibitory orders were lifted from 10 districts in Jammu.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also rubbished media reports about a protest by nearly 10,000 people in Kashmir as "fabricated and incorrect". The Ministry said there had been a few stray protests in the Valley in the past few days against scrapping of J&K's special status and none of these involved a crowd of more than 20 people.
