Mehbooba Mufti Shifted To New Location

Jammu and Kashmir administration shifted former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to government quarters on Maulana Azad Road in the city center from the government guesthouse turned sub-jail in Chashma Shahi. Mufti has now been detained behind Banquet Hall on MA road which was the residence of her father and then chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during the first PDP-Congress government in 2002-2008. She has been shifted to house number 5 in Transport Lane. Like former CMs Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, of the National Conference, PDP chief Mufti has been in detention since August 5, when the Union government abrogated Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union territories.
