Peoples Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija Mufti has sought information on detentions in Jammu and Kashmir on behalf of her mother. In a tweet on Friday, Ilija Mufti said she wrote to the Union home secretary and his counterpart in Jammu and Kashmir on September 18 but was yet to receive a response.
The former chief minister’s daughter has been under house arrest since August 5 at the family’s Gupkar Road residence in Srinagar. Mehbooba Mufti was detained along with several other political leaders, including former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the same day.
