More Than 2 Lakh Cases Pending In J&K’s HC, Lower Courts thedispatch.in
More than two lakh cases of civil and criminal backgrounds are awaiting disposals in Jammu and Kashmir’s High Court and lower court. “75613 cases including writs are pending in Jammu and Kashmir High Court. “Of these, 27701 are writ petitions, 39770 cases belongs to civil background while 8142 belongs to criminal background,” reported by The News Now quoting data. The analysis of data also disclosed over 1 Lakh cases are pending in district and sub-ordinate courts of Jammu and Kashmir. “Of these, 1,77254 cases are pending in district and sub-ordinate courts of Jammu and Kashmir,” the data reveals.
“Out of the total pending cases in lower courts, 73,843 cases belonged to civil backgrounds while 1, 03411 cases belonged to the criminal background,” the further breakup of the data reveals. In a shocking disclosure, the data also reveals that the disposal rate of fast track courts in Jammu and Kashmir is very poor. The fast track courts, which deals with specific cases of heinous nature, cases pertaining to women, children, senior citizen and other vulnerable sections and civil cases of property disputes pending for more than five years.
