In a stern message to Pakistan, Defence minister Rajnath Singh today said that Kashmir has always been with India and will remain so. Want to ask Pakistan when had Kashmir belonged to it. Kashmir was always part of India, he said in Ladakh, adding that the neighbours do not have locus standi on the Valley. Singh is in the newly-bifurcated Union territory to inaugurate the 26th Ladakhi Kisan Jawan Vigyan Fair.
After getting a green signal from the Supreme Court, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury will visit Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday to meet his party colleague and former MLA Mohammed Yusuf Tarigami, the Left party said. The apex court on Wednesday allowed Yechury to visit the state to meet Tarigami, who has been detained by the authorities in the Valley in the wake of abrogation of provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution, which accorded a special status to the state. Meanwhile, mobile phone services, which were snapped across the state since August 5, resumed in five districts of Jammu region — Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch.
