Security Forces Detect IED, Major Terror Attack Foiled

As the security forces detected IED (Improvised Explosive Device) under a bridge in Sopore on Monday (January 13), a major terror attack was averted in the newly-formed Union Territory, Jammu and Kashmir . The security forces have cordoned off the area and a bomb disposal squad has been rushed to the spot to defuse the IED. The role of any terror group behind the move is yet to be ascertained. The reports said that 33 Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police were carrying out a joint search operation in the area, during which at least 30 kilogram IED was detected under a bridge in Rafiabad.
