There Is Some Amazing Talent Even In J&K’s Smallest Districts timesofindia.indiatimes.com
After an extensive two-week long preparatory camp held at the Motibaug Cricket Ground in Vadodara, the Jammu and Kashmir team is now confident about doing well at the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, which starts from September 24. While the 27 cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir’s senior team avoided talking to the media, due to the prevailing situation in the valley, their mentorcum-player Irfan Pathan told us that the camp turned out to be a “satisfactory” one. In the first week of August, Irfan, along with the other support staff of the team (including coach Milap Mewada, a former Baroda player), had to leave Jammu and Kashmir, just before the announcement of bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir by the union government. While the prevailing communication restrictions had made it very difficult to contact all the players, they finally managed to find a way to get together and train in Vadodara. Excerpts from a chat with Irfan.
