Twitter Abuzz As Mobile Internet Restored In Kargil theweekendleader.com
As mobile internet service was restored in Kargil in the Union Territory of Ladakh, Twitter users welcomed the development.
#MobileInternet got 5,315 tweets and #Kargil 4,320 tweets.
Internet was shut in Kargil on August 5, the day Article 370 of the Indian Constitution was abrogated in Jammu & Kashmir. Among those who commented, with a tinge of sarcasm, on the restoration of the service was Congress general secretary and former Union minister Mukul Wasnik.
He wrote on @MukulWasnik: “Let’s congratulate the Prime Minister and Home Minister. Mobile Internet is back after 145 days in Kargil. Is this not a great achievement?” One user commented: “Could Jammu be next? (Move gives a lot of hope in Jammu as well).
