Two Western Disturbances To Bring Rain, Snow To Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh weather.com
Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are set to experience wet conditions on Wednesday and Thursday, under the influence of not one, but two western disturbances (WD), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted. In accordance with this forecast, a yellow alert has been issued in Jammu for Wednesday. During the early hours of Wednesday, one disturbance was observed hovering over west Iran and neighbourhood, while the second WD was located over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir.
Under their combined influence, fairly widespread to widespread rain/snow is very likely over Jammu & Kashmir, while isolated rain/snow is expected over Himachal Pradesh during the next 48 hours. Isolated showers in Jammu & Kashmir may also continue on Friday. The maximum intensity of these rains and snowfall will occur on Wednesday, and reduce significantly thereafter. Isolated parts of Kashmir shall particularly experience heavy rain/snow in the next 24 hours, while the Jammu division will be greeted with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.
